Flip SlideHD Video Camera Review

Flip SlideHD Video Camera Review

Cisco claims that the Flip Slide HD is the “world’s best shoot and show video camera.” It’s most outstanding feature is a wide 3” touch screen that slides out and pops out for instantaneous playbacks that makes a Flip Slide HD works both as a camera and a portable theater of amazingly high definition video. The Flip Slide HD records remarkable 30fps HD video at 1280 x 720 and is equipped with 2 x digital zoom and a memory up to 16GB.

The Flip SlideHD can shoot up to 4 hours of remarkable HD video and store up to 12 hours of photos and videos in Space Saver format with the use of a built-in FlipShare software allowing a user to take their favorite footages wherever they go. The same FlipShare software is also responsible for organizing and editing video footages, capturing still photos, creating videos and sharing the photos and video footages to Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. By connecting the built-in USB arm to a Mac or PC the FlipShare software is automatically launched. Videos can also be viewed on HDTVs by connecting the Flip Slide HD to the TV with the Flip Video Cable HDMI, an item that is sold separately. The Flip Slide HD also records high-quality videos that are compatible with almost all video-playing applications such as Quick Time Player, Windows Media Player, and iTunes.

With the Flip SlideHD it is easy to capture high-quality HD video anywhere anytime. When the big red button on the Flip Slide HD’s wide touch screen is pressed it starts recording clear HD video. It also has a “Child Safe” mode to avert any accidental deletion of clips or footages. Its silent mode allows recording in sensitive situations and has a Lithium-Ion battery that is rechargeable by simply connecting the Slide HD’s USB arm to a computer.

Flip Video MinoHD Camcorder Review 2011

Flip Video MinoHD Camcorder Review

The Flip Video MinoHD Camcorder is a pocket-friendly camcorder that generates amazingly solid 720p video in spite of its super compact size and very light weight of only 3.3 ounces. It is one easy to use camcorder that does not require any fiddling or setting except for the time and date. Shooting with the Mino HD is only in one resolution and all that it has is a red button to start and stop recording and a playback button to view what has been recorded. Its FlipShare software which is compatible to Windows and MAC operating systems makes it easier to download and share the video footages to all networking sites.

For a tiny camcorder like the Flip Mino HD it captures quite impressively and accurately vivid and sharp images with incredibly dazzling colors but recording is best viewed on a computer screen for a sharper scaling. Although the MinoHD’s video output is quite good on a TV screen, it still is a low – resolution video and is therefore not comparable with high-definition camcorders.

The MinoHD recordings in both dim and bright lights are also reasonably good. It can capture video images even in a very weakly lighted room because of its improved low-light sensitivity feature that uses 9Mbps. The sound is passable and an improvement over the earlier Mino but the mic could benefit from more gain up. It has a not too big transreflective crystal LCD display, only 1.46 inch, but that allows the user to view the images on the screen in spite of a bright sunlight.

The Flip MinoHD operates on a rechargeable lithium ion battery that can shoot up to 120 minutes and is provided by 4GB for the storage of 60 minutes of 1,280 x 720p video with an upgraded Flip Video’s Pure Digital Video engine 3.0 processor and a ¼.5 – inch HD CMOS sensor.
